Sergi Roberto ruled out for five weeks due to Hamstring injury

Sergi Roberto

Sergi Roberto suffered an injury to his hamstring in the first half of yesterday’s game against Getafe. The player tried to play despite the pain during the first few minutes following his knock, which happened while passing backwards. But he was finally replaced by Eric Garcia, who took over central defence with Ronald Araujo, while Jules Kounde went to right-back.

Roberto injured his left Hamstring

Adria Albets issued an update on Roberto’s injury, claiming that the player would be out for five weeks owing to a hamstring strain in his left thigh. The athlete is undergoing final medical examinations, although there is scepticism over the injury. Sergi Roberto had tests on Monday morning. Roberto had hurt his left hamstring, specifically the biceps femoral muscle in the thigh. He will not be capable of playing until he fully recovers from his injury. He had to leave the pitch after 15 minutes of Sunday’s 0-0 draw with Getafe due to an horrific incident. Sergi Roberto has made 30 appearances this season, 20 of which have been in La Liga. He scored four goals and providing three assists.

With a month and a half till the season’s end, Roberto could be ready for the final two of games. However, Barcelona has not dealt with injuries in a timely manner this season. Several players, including Ousmane Dembele and Pedri, have been out for considerably longer than expected due to relapses in training. Frenkie de Jong was also expected to be back in time to face Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey after having been out for only two weeks.

While there is some optimism about Pedri and de Jong’s injuries ahead of their match against Atletico Madrid next weekend. Dembele needs to recover for the match against Real Betis on April 29th. Andreas Christensen suffered a hamstring injury while playing for Denmark during the international break. Roberto’s absence is a significant setback for Jules Kounde. Kounde needs to play at right-back position in the season’s last games. In Christensen’s absence, one of Marcos Alonso or Eric Garcia will get more playing time.
