Sevilla has no Intensions to sell their Centre Back Jules Kounde. The La Liga Outfit are not ready to let the French Centre Back move to a new Club during the forthcoming January Transfer Window. Jules Kounde almost joined Chelsea on an €80 Million move away from Seville this summer. However, the Blues did not want to pay the Release Clause for the Defender. The Premier Club had an offer of €35 Million including Kurt Zouma rejected by Sevilla.
Meanwhile, the Premier League giants Manchester United have joined the race to sign the Centre Back. Reports have claimed that the Red Devils are planning to launch a bid for him during the January Transfer Window. Sevilla will let the player move only if an offer of €80 Million arrives. The 6-time UEFA Europa League winners will not accept anything under his Buy-out Fee.
The Seville based club will not entertain any offers in January. It is also reported that the La Liga outfit does not want to disrupt their team by letting him go in the middle of the season. The 23-year-old has remained an important part of the Spanish giants since he arrived from the Ligue 1 side, Bordeaux.
Sevilla expected to hold out until June 2022 unless the Defender’s Release Clause is met
The 23-year-old defender was on the verge of joining the European Champions Chelsea in the summer. But both the parties fail to agree on a fee after Thomas Tuchel refused to meet the release clause. The French International is calm about its future at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium. He is open to continuing his development in Sevilla even though there are offers from the Premier League.
As for Manchester United, their defensive record has been extremely poor this season. The Club is under a lot of criticism after several disappointing results in their domestic league as well as the UEFA Champions League. They conceded 5 goals against Liverpool without scoring a single goal in the Match. A week later they crashed out to Manchester City during the first Manchester Derby of the season by 2-0 with just one shot on Target.
Acquiring the services of Jules Kounde could be beneficial for the Club. He can pair up with either Harry Maguire or United’s summer signing Raphael Varane who is currently out of action due to injury. Jules Kounde has won the 2019/20 Europa League with Sevilla under Head Coach Julen Lopetegui. He has made 13 appearances for the Club in all competitions during the 2021-22 campaign.
