It’s safe to say that Real Madrid has an embarrassing wealth of midfielders and in Carlo Ancelotti’s 4-3-3 formation, Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Dani Ceballos, Aurelien Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga, and Federico Valverde are the vitals. Ancelotti is playing a midfield three of Kroos, Modric, and Valverde. This came in the recent weeks, and Camavinga is forced to play left back. This due to a lack of options in that area of the ground. Tchouameni and Ceballos is reducing the supporting roles. Both have connected to their departures this summer. And Liverpool is in talks with Tchouameni and Ceballos. Their contract expires at the end of the current campaign.
Future at stake for Tchouameni at Madrid
The more seasoned pair of Modric and Kroos together with Valverde have replaced MTchouameni. This is because he has failed to maintain a consistent starting position in recent months. Given where Real Madrid is in their season right now, the Italian’s choice is hardly shocking. If Real Madrid gave up on Tchouameni after one season, that would be highly uncharacteristic of them. While Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo, and Eder Militao—all of whom are now regular starters and significant players. Tchouameni has not been bad and therefore it is not as if he has done something wrong. Even though he might not have been as excellent as he was at Monaco the previous season, it would have been unfair to expect him to be.
Tchouameni will probably have the chance to establish himself as a regular starter at Real Madrid until Modric and Kroos depart the team or retire, which is most likely to happen at the end of the upcoming season at the earliest. He will have his moment, but he probably needs to wait a little bit. Tchouameni is an incredibly gifted football player who possesses all the skills necessary to rank among the top defensive midfielders in the world, and he will have the chance to do so at Real Madrid over the coming few years.
