The Battle between Bayern Munich and DFB intensifies

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

There is a huge battle unfolding in Germany where Bayern Munich is going head to head with DFB. German Football Association or DFB, wants to bring members of the Bayern Munich coaching team to their fold.

This is after Hansi Flick has been officially announced as the next German manager. Current Germany manager Joachim Low decided to step down from his role after Euro 2020. DFB as a result wanted to bring in Flick as the replacement. Flick who was managing Bayern Munich at the time, terminated his contract to make himself available.

Now DFB is trying to bring in more Bayern Munich coaching staff to the national setup. Bayern’s Head of fitness and chief scientist, Professor Holger Broich, and assistant manager Danny Rohl are wanted by Flick and the DFB. Bayern however is against the move and is trying to keep hold of them.

THE HEROES BEHIND THE SCENE FOR BAYERN MUNICH

Bayern found their replacement for Flick in Julian Nagelsmann. The young German will join Bayern in the summer but will be faced with his first challenge. He now has to convince both Broich and Rohl from staying at Bayern.

Holger Broich, the Head of fitness and chief scientist at Bayern Munich has been in the club since 2014. He became famous after the impressive transformation of Leon Goretzka and others. Broich worked with Jupp Heynckes at Bayer Leverkusen from 2003 to 2014. The legendary manager described him as “worth gold, one of my most important employees.”

Broich has a contract with Bayern Munich on an indefinite basis. This will be key for Bayern and Nagelsmann as they will try to persuade him to stay at the club. However, the same is not the case for Danny Rohl. Rohl, who is working as the assistant manager of Bayern, has a contract till 2023. Flick and DFB want him as the assistant coach for the national team.

Rohl has experience working as assistant manager for RB Leipzig and Southampton before his time at Bayern Munich. Bayern is desperate to keep him. It will all comes to who can convince Rohl the more.

In conclusion, Bayern Munich could head into the next season with a lot of changes. Players like David Alaba, Javi Martinez, and Jerome Boateng are also leaving Bayern this summer. The club also announced the departure of Miroslav Klose and Hermann Gerland from the coaching staff positions.

Hence so many changes in their playing team and backroom staff could create uncertainty. Drastic changes in the setup could be an issue going into the new season. Unless Bayern finds a way to fix it, they could lose their dominance over their rivals.
