Tomori provided a poor performance in Milan defeat

Chelsea loanee Fikayo Tomori provided yet another bad performance for AC Milan in a 3-0 defeat in Serie A match against a top-four rival Lazio on Monday night.

It was the second consecutive defeat for the Rossoneri and Tomori has had two successive bad performances. At first, it was against Sassuolo where they lost the game by two second-half goals after leading at the end of the first half. But, against Lazio, it was utterly shambolic from Tomori and Milan.

Milan are currently sitting 5th place in the Serie A table after back-to-back losses. They have 66 points in 33 games. Pioli’s side got the same number of points in the same number of games. However, they dropped down to 5th place on goal difference.

Tomori is losing his form at Milan:

On Monday night in a very crucial game of the season, Tomori failed to live up to the Milan fans. This defeat put Stefano Pioli’s side out of the Champions League spot after they were the contender for the Serie A title early in the season.

Against Lazio, Tomori looked awful and didn’t know what to do. For the first goal, he left his position and placed himself in a no man’s land. For the disallowed goal also his decision making wasn’t right.

For Lazio‘ second goal, Joaquín Correa made him look like a fool and dribbled past him like he wasn’t even there. The 23-years-old English defender lost his form which he displayed early in the season.

Lazio forwards outclassed him twice in the game. The one time English international won only one ground duel out of five occasions. This situation showed clearly that Tomori isn’t ready yet to play in the highest level football. So, the decision of Chelsea to loan him out was a correct one.

Initially, Milan wanted to keep Tomori permanently at San Siro after few good performances from him. However, it will be interesting to see if Milan rethink their decision after these bad performances from Tomori.
