Wayne Rooney’s 11-year old son Kai Rooney penned down his first contract with Manchester United’s Academy on Thursday.

Kai is the eldest of the 4 brothers. He will be hoping to continue his father’s legacy who had a brilliant 13-year spell here at Manchester United.

Rooney is United’s top scorer with 253 goals and his son will be hoping to break that record one day.

Rooney had joined United from Everton for £25.6 million in 2004. That was a record signing for a player then aged below 20. He made his debut in the Champions League and scored a hattrick. Doing so he became the youngest player in the history of the competition to earn highly reputed recognition.

MANCHESTER UNITED ACADEMY PRODUCED SOME PROMINENT NAMES, A TOP-NOTCH VIBE FOR KAI ROONEY

United’s academy is one of the best and most prestigious in England. No one can argue with that after the legends produced over the past decades. The famous Class of ’92 players; David Beckham, Nicky Butt, Ryan Giggs, Gary Neville, Paul Scholes, Phil Neville were the part of 90’s Fergie’s Fledglings.

A group of young footballers who were introduced into the Manchester United first team by the manager Alex Ferguson was termed as above. Fast-forward to now, we have Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford, Jessie Lingard, Mason Greenwood, Dean Henderson, and many others who have broken into the first-team and have really made an impact.

This is a good sign for Kai, who said he has joined one of the best academies of all time. It will be a great chance for him to enter into the list of the glorious academy graduates and become a United legend.

The Interim player-coach at Derby County informed this news via social media.

“Special night….. congratulations Kai. I love you and I am so proud of you. Keep trying your best.”

Kai Rooney’s mother Coleen Rooney wrote on Instagram

The legacy takeovers have a very huge responsibility, especially if they are youngsters because of the pressure to produce a prominent profile, need to break the records set by his father, and to be someone who fabricates a novel identity in the fixtures. Hope Kai lifts up his name among the top clubs.
