Wilfred Ndidi : Transfer or Renewal

FC BARCELONA

Wilfred Ndidi from Leicester City could be Barcelona’s next target for the upcoming summer transfer window. His contract runs out this season. Will Barca sign him? Let’s have a look.

Barcelona In The Transfer Window

Barcelona will once again have their sights set on the free-agent pool when the summer of 2024 arrives. This has been the case in the last several transfer windows.

The La Liga champions will once again be searching for deals and market possibilities to bolster their squad. This is due to the club’s less-than-ideal financial circumstances. They have already identified certain players with expiring contracts as prospective targets.

Real Betis has rejected current rumors indicating the possibility of a transfer for Argentine midfielder Guido Rodriguez.

Nico Williams of Athletic Club is a player that seems to be high on the Catalans’ wishlist.

Wilfred Ndidi Next on the List

Currently, SPORT is reporting that Barcelona has Wilfred Ndidi of Leicester City in mind as a prospective free agent for 2024.

The Foxes’ scheduled contract expiration will make the 26-year-old Nigerian international a free agent next summer.

Barça is also keeping a close eye on his status as they consider whether to offer him a Bosman deal.

Ndidi is an experienced performer who has had success in the Premier League and is presently excelling in the EFL Championship as a result of Leicester being demoted.

Matter of no Shock

Barcelona had already expressed an interest in Ndidi. A few seasons ago, the La Liga winners made an attempt to sign the 26-year-old. They were turned off by the Foxes’ €70 million asking price.

However, given that he is a dependable and accomplished defensive midfielder, the Blaugrana are rumored to be interested now that he may be available for free.

But given that teams like Bayern Munich, Juventus, and Atletico Madrid have already expressed interest in Ndidi this year and may do so again in 2024, there will certainly be competition for his services come the summer.
