Sports magazines are full of reports that Frenkie de Jong may be considering a decision to move to Manchester United. It is no surprise since the Red Devils are long been associated with Frenkie de Jong.
How is this transfer possible?
Frenkie de Jong is a Dutch footballer who plays for FC Barcelona in La Liga. He plays in the midfield position. Currently, he is an important part of the Barcelona team setup. However, in this season, things have only gone downhill between de Jong and the Barcelona senior team management.
There are also reports that de Jong is not happy with how things have gone so far for him at Camp Nou. Xavi has more often than not, given more importance to Gavi and Pedri. Since, Barcelona’s match against Elche in September, de Jong has not been given enough playing time. He has continuously been ignored.
Is Manchester United Pursuing de Jong?
Ten Hag is looking at the wonderful skills and strength Frenkie de Jong can bring to the midfield of Manchester United. In the counter-attack, the Red Devils often look weak. Rashford can run with the ball real quick but often there is nobody to support him.
The Dutch midfielder is young and quick. He can help the forwards Ronaldo and Rashford. He can also tango with Casemiro to create goal-scoring opportunities.
Last summer, Frenkie de Jong was given a tempting offer by Manchester United. Everybody thought the Dutch will take the offer. But he chose to stay at Camp Nou for another season. But new reports have suggested that Erik ten Hag and the Red Devils are still trying to bring the Dutch midfielder to Old Trafford.
Rumors are ripe that he may be seriously considering an offer from Red Devils and can make the transfer to Old Trafford as early as next season.
