Wolve’s getting ready to face Etihad Challenge

As Wolve’s begin preparations for the “ultimate test” at Manchester City, Gary O’Neil has promised that they will relish the opportunity to upset the status quo in the Premier League title race. This weekend, the Wolve’s will visit the Etihad. They take on a city team that is vying for the top title for a record four times running. They won 2-1 over Luton on Saturday to snap a seven-match losing streak. Wolve’s will be traveling with a newfound sense of purpose. O’Neill has already witnessed his team defeat Pep Guardiola once this season. Tomorrow, he will find out if the FA will subject him to a touchline ban after charging him following the 2-1 loss to West Ham earlier this month.

The Wolve’s have the best record of beating the top six clubs in the Premier League. They will look to continue this streak. Having already beaten City once, they will look to double up on the wins.

Wolve’s boss said after the Luton game:

“The players will love going there. I am hoping I can be on the touchline with them; we will see how Tuesday goes.”

“We don’t have many attackers. There are maybe three or four that you would classify as actual attackers. There are probably only Pedro (Neto), Channy (Hwang), and Cunha who can play on the top line.

“We have not been able to name those two since December or the three of them since October.

“If you think back to West Ham, the first half was when we dominated the ball but never really looked like we had anyone with that cutting edge.

“It has been tough for the group because we have had to try and find a way, and we have been competitive in the last few weeks, apart from last Wednesday against Bournemouth.

“The lads have done great to keep working and keep fighting. I knew once we started to get attacking players back, it would make a big difference. Today I thought we looked a lot more threatening.”
