Xavi wants to keep the graduate of La Masia

The Barcelona coach wants to retain Roberto for another year, according to an ARA report. The Spaniard’s current contract at Camp Nou expires at the conclusion of the current campaign. But it seems Xavi is willing to extend it by another year.

This is owing to the fact that Xavi really admires Roberto. Especially in light of the latter’s expertise at the top level of football. The player has indeed appeared for the team in 328 competitive games while at Barça.

What does the future of Barcelona look like for Xavi?

Given his flexibility, Roberto might always be a useful alternative for Barcelona, thus it appears that Xavi wants him to stay on the team. Given the absence of Hector Bellerin and the injuries to Ronald Araujo at right-back this season, the Spaniard has still played a significant role in the team’s success.

For his part, Roberto seems committed to continuing his career with Barcelona. In truth, the adaptable Spaniard aspires to lead FC Barcelona’s first squad, which is a real possibility if both Busquets and Alba depart the organization at the end of the current campaign.
