Zinedine Zidane back to management?

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Zinedine Zidane is looking for an immediate return to management. After a trophy-less season at Real Madrid and poor relation with the players, Zidane will be stepping down from his role. Though he admitted that he was tired of the repetitive nature of the job, reports have emerged that the Frenchman wants to return quick.

Real Madrid had to settle for 2nd in La Liga after wobbly season. 2 points decided the course of the trophy. Despite showing good form towards the end, Los Blancos could not secure a single trophy. A crappy loss to Chelsea in the semi-finals ended their Champions’ League run.

Zidane’s departure was imminent even though he had a year left on his contract. After it was confirmed that he had stepped down, sources suggested that he was going on a hiatus from management. U-Turn!

Zidane open to any top-club

Even though Real Madrid have not decided on their candidates, Zidane has made it clear that he is ready to join any top-team looking for a manager. Antonio Conte stepped down from Inter Milan but Simone Inzaghi is most likely to take the spot. Close enough Juventus too brought back Massimiliano Allegri to replace Andrea Pirlo.

Tottenham Hotspur are close to getting Mauricio Pochettino back which may open another door for Zidane. Pochettino joined PSG last season only to see them lose the Ligue 1 title to Lille. Tottenham one upped by becoming the inaugural members of the European Conference League.

If Pochettino decides to return to the club he took to the Champions League Finals, Zidane might have a very good opening. With PSG likely to make some solid changes to squad and Neymar and Draxler extending their contracts, Zidane can start a new chapter.

Madrid not heaven anymore

For Real? Ever since Ronaldo’s departure, the internal issues at Real Madrid have become more prominent. Florentino Perez’ incapacity to look at football beyond money has made it a place to stay away from. The European Super League headed by him is the perfect example of how Perez does not care about the game.

Do not be surprised if Solario makes a return.
