Zinedine Zidane Rules Out Lucas Vazquez Exit After Win Over Celta Vigo

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Zinedine Zidane has denied any possible exit of the Manchester United target, Lucas Vazquez after he guided Real Madrid to a convenient 2-0 win against Celta Vigo.

Zidane has also requested Real Madrid to renew the contracts of Sergio Ramos, Luka Modric and Lucas Vazquez who are now free to negotiate with other clubs for a free transfer in Summer.

Real Madrid temporarily moved to the top of the table after the win. They are a point clear of their local rivals, Atletico Madrid who have 3 games in their hand.

ZIDANE IMPRESSED BY LUCAS VAZQUEZ:

The Spaniard opened the scoring 5 minutes into the game in a brilliant counter-attack lead by Marco Asensio. Their opponent was close to scoring before Los Blancos made the counter.

Asensio later doubled the lead in the 53rd minute when Vazquez provided the assist into the box. Zidane exclaimed that this was one of their best performances and was proud of the team.

The 29-year-old winger started his career in Real Madrid. He made his senior appearance when on loan at Espanyol. After his return to his parent club in 2015, he has since made over 200 appearances. In the span of 5 years, he has won 12 major trophies.

Last season, he made the least appearances as he had injured himself. Otherwise, he is an integral part of the team. He is mainly a wide midfielder, but due to the injuries of his fellow teammates, he has been covering the right-back position most of the season. Fairly said, he has impressed everyone by authorizing that position.

OUT-OF-CONTRACT TRIO SET TO JOIN NEW CLUBS?

The long time Madridistas might be finally going for a new chapter in their career as the three of them are running out of contract in 6 months.

Sergio Ramos and Lucas Vazquez have been linked with Manchester United. Looking at the state of United’s defence, they would be a great addition. The Red Devils need a cover for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, the only proper right-back available. They are linked with many right-backs, but if they can acquire this veteran for free, it will be great.

Harry Maguire could also use a solid partner, as most of the centre-backs are injured most of the time. Keeping a tab on a highly prolific and decorated player like Ramos, if he is about to leave is considered decent.

Luka Modric has been linked to his previous club, Tottenham Hotspur, and Jose Mourinho would love another reunion with a former player after landing Gareth Bale on loan.

Jose is also attempting to lure Ramos to the London Club. He has previously managed both of them during his time at Real Madrid. If they were to leave the club, Mourinho would be more than happy to acquire them on a free transfer.
