The 22-year-old has enjoyed an impressive season with Betis, playing a pivotal role in their push for European qualification. He has made 29 La Liga appearances this season, scoring two goals and providing four assists.

Despite his success with Betis, Emerson has made it clear that his preference is to return to Barcelona. In an interview with Sport, he said, “My priority is to play for Barça. It is a dream that I have had since I was a kid, and I am working hard to make it happen. I know that I have a contract with Betis until 2022, but if Barcelona wants me, I will go back.”

However, Emerson has also stressed the importance of having sporting guarantees before committing his future to the club. He wants to ensure that he will have a prominent role in the team. And that he will be the opportunity to compete for titles.

Will this Barcelona loanee be a asset for Barcelona

“I want to have an important role in the team. I want to feel that I am part of the project and that I can contribute to the team’s success.

Emerson’s request for sporting guarantees is understandable given the uncertain future of Barcelona’s right-back position. Sergi Roberto and Sergino Dest have both played in that position this season. But neither has been able to establish themselves as the undisputed first-choice. With Emerson’s impressive performances with Betis, he could provide the solution to Barcelona’s right-back conundrum.

Barcelona’s interim president, Carles Tusquets, has already indicate. That the club is interest in bringing Emerson back to the Camp Nou. In an interview with RAC1, he said, “If we can bring Emerson back for 9 million euros, we will do it. He is a player with great potential, and he has proven himself in La Liga.”
