Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur to Battle for Diego Costa?

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

North London giants Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have expressed their interest in signing free agent Diego Costa.

Atletico Madrid had signed Diego Costa in the year 2018 from Chelsea for  66 million and since then he has scored 12 goals and has given 9 assists in 61 appearances for the club.

However, the 32-year-old Spaniard wanted to leave this season for personal reasons which prompted the club to terminate his contract and this was done on a mutual understanding.

Atletico had a very high wage bill and they were looking to reduce it as they would want to sign more players in the upcoming transfer window so they agreed to part ways with the Spaniard.

Arsenal Favorites to sign Costa over Spurs and Juventus?

Arsenal so far has had a disastrous season wherein the Premier League sit in the 13th position, 12 points away from leaders Liverpool with a -3 goal difference.

Therefore the Gunners want to bolster their attacking options in the upcoming transfer window and they would want to sign another striker who can be ruthless in front of the goal.

So, they have identified Diego Costa as they feel he would be a main goal-scoring threat for them However they would face stiff competition from Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus who are also keen on signing him.

Both the respective clubs also want to add more firepower to their team hence they have also entered the race to sign Costa. Spurs want to land the striker as they need more attacking options upfront and they feel they need to get a backup striker to Kane.

Whereas even Juventus want a backup striker to Morata as they don’t have many striker options therefore they want to sign Costa as he could prove to be decisive upfront.

Therefore it will be interesting to see which club does Costa chooses and whether he would want to go to Arsenal, Spurs, or Juventus so at this stage all options are open and nothing can be ruled out.
