Barcelona coach Xavi will have the responsibility to convince four players to leave

The club and its squad are still happy and enjoying their La Liga victory, but Xavi will have the painful responsibility of informing some of the players that the club will not rely on them for the coming season. Diario AS has identified four key players who have contracts with the club and with whom Xavi will have to give the bad news that they are on their way out. These individuals are:

Ansu Fati

Ansu Fati’s case will be the most difficult to resolve because he has risen through the ranks at the club and is seen as one of their own by the club and its followers. As a result, Xavi will have to persuade Fati to accept an offer from another team, which will benefit both the player and the club. Barcelona would receive a transfer fee and have their wage bill lowered, while Fati would benefit from a change of environment as his growth has remained sluggish in recent seasons.

Ferran Torres

Ferran Torres is another player Xavi will try convince to walk away. Torres put up some impressive performances in his early days at the club but has subsequently gone cold. The Catalan club is hoping to recoup roughly €20-25 million from his sale, which would reduce the club’s loss on the player in half, as the club spent City €55 million for him.

Franck Kessie

While Kessie has been fairly productive in his few games for the club, Xavi will still must compel him to accept an offer from another team this transfer window. Because he was recruited for free, his sale would allow the club to make a quick profit, and he can give the club with a considerable amount of cash if he leaves.

Pablo Torre

This case would be easier because the club is merely looking for a loan transfer for the youngster right now. The coaches believe that a player of Torre’s calibre should not go a season without getting meaningful playing time, and they are seeking for a first-division club where he can make regular appearances.

As a result, Xavi will face the difficult task of persuading some of the club’s players to depart while they are still enjoying the league title. This will be a new challenge for Xavi, who has been mainly successful in previous phases of his coaching career.
