The Spanish Super Cup was organized in Saudi Arabia this year. The Semi-Finals saw the elimination of Valencia and Real Betis at the hands of Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively. The Final took place between the arch-rivals in Riyadh for the trophy.

Xavi Hernandez said that the Los Blancos are psychologically stronger than the Blaugrana at the moment. However, the manager insisted that his team possess the quality to beat the reigning Spanish champions. The statement proved to be true as his side beat Real Madrid comfortably on the night.

Robert Lewandowski, Pedri, and Gavi got on the scoresheet for the Catalan giants. Meanwhile, Karim Benzema got one back for the European Champions late in the game. Real Madrid did not come out at their best and struggled to cope with the intensity of the Blaugrana.

Barcelona can take a lot of confidence from this victory

The Blaugrana currently sit at the top of the table and are looking strong. However, it is a long season and the players will need all the confidence they can get to sustain this form. Xavi Hernandez is trying to get the club back where it belongs and lift the league title.

The management has built a good squad for the manager as they had a good summer transfer window. The Manager has insisted that he does not mind if no new additions were made to the squad. However, if the club wants to challenge for the league title then Raphinha is key to their plans.

The team is heavily dependent on Robert Lewandowski or Ousmane Dembele currently. However, other forwards need to step up to reduce pressure on the two-star men. Raphinha, Ferran Torres, and Ansu Fati have a lot of responsibility on their shoulders. Gavi and Pedri have been given a free role in the team which has benefitted them. Hopefully, the squad can keep up the excellent performances in the coming weeks!!
