Barcelona deems Ez Abde as an alternative for reinforcing left flank

The left wing is one of the positions that Barcelona is aiming to reinforce during the summer transfer window. In addition, Atletico Madrid winger Yannick Carrasco has been highlighted as the area’s top priority. While selling Memphis Depay to the Rojiblancos in January, Barcelona secured a €15 million purchase option for Carrasco from their La Liga rivals. And, while they desire to sign him now, the recently crowned champions are unwilling to pay the agreed-upon fee.

Ez Abde is the alternative to reinforce the left wing at Barcelona

As a result, RAC1 reports that Barcelona will try to negotiate a lesser fee for Carrasco with Atletico Madrid in the coming weeks. If they are unable to sign him, the Blaugrana might look to youngster Ez Abde as a replacement on the left wing. Abde is now on loan at Osasuna, where he has made an impact. He was instrumental in their run to the Copa del Rey finals. Also he was the star player in their pursuit for European qualification in La Liga. The Moroccan international has six goals and two assists in 32 appearances this season. But his impact has gone beyond that.

Abde’s performances in Barcelona and elsewhere have not gone unnoticed. Several clubs have shown interest in signing him this summer. The Catalans have already received a few of bids for the 21-year-old Moroccan ace. Given the attention he is generating and the potential revenue his sale could bring in, Barça are said to be open to his departure.

Xavi Alonso has made a tremendous impact at Bayer Leverkusen since his arrival. Hence this summer offers an important opportunity for the German club to take another step forward. That, of course, has led to transfer rumours. The most prominent of which is Bayern Leverkusen has shown interest in signing Ez Abde during the summer transfer window.

Carrasco’s possible arrival would push Abde even closer to the exits. If the Belgian does not join Barcelona in the summer, the former 21 year old Hercules CF player could end up staying at the club.
