Barcelona has started the season in the ideal way possible. The international break brought with it an interval into the schedule. The players, however, will not enjoy the break. Considering the top form of the club, 18 players of the FC Barcelona squad have been called up to represent their nations.

Over the two weeks, these 18 players would represent their nations in friendly games and the UEFA Nations League. The following games will be crucial warm-ups for the competing teams as the FIFA World Cup is less than two months away, allowing them to assess their players and fine-tune their squads.

The Spanish national team has called upon Ferran Torres, Eric Garcia, Pedri, Gavi, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba, while the French national team has added Jules Kounde and Ousmane Dembele. Frenkie de Jong and Memphis Depay are presently traveling with the Netherlands. First-team goalkeeper Mac Andre Ter Stegen has also joined the Germany squad.

Along with this, Robert Lewandowski will captain the Poland squad, Raphinha (Brazil), Andreas Christensen (Denmark), Ronald Araujo (Uruguay), and Franck Kessie (Ivory Coast) are the others to have joined their national teams.

Apart from the first team players, Inaki Pena and Alejandro Balde have been called to represent Spain under 21.

During the current international break, that is the most players from a single team that have been called up. The teams with the second-highest number of international call-ups include Bayern Munich, Manchester United, and Manchester City (all 17).

While the call-ups into the national squad can motivate the participant players, a sense of concern looms around. The players have featured heavily with the club, but more overload with the international games could bring with its injuries. However, the call-ups prove the overall talented squad that Barcelona currently possesses.
