Barcelona seems to be pushing for the signing of Nahuel Molina, the Udinese right-back according to reports from TuttoSport, Italy.

Barcelona and its defense issues

Xavi Hernandez, the Barcelona boss is unhappy with the current defenders at the club. With Sergi Roberto being out of form, there aren’t any youngsters who are capable of playing. Dani Alves, 38 is pouring his heart out for his badge but his age isn’t a promising factor.

Chelsea defender, Cesar Azpilicuetta is expected to be brought in by the Catalan giants. Although the Blues are apparently refusing to help his transfer, Barca is still pushing. Searching for other options, the club was shown the way to sign Molina from Udinese.

Pedro Porro and Dodo have surfaced as potential targets for Barcelona in this regard. With Molina potentially a realistic option to improve the right-back position, Barcelona can sell some of their players.

Udinese estimates the Argentine is worth roughly €30 million. But it’s questionable whether Barcelona can stomach paying that price given the club’s current financial situation.

Barcelona signing Molina

The 24-year-old defender is also being watched by Juventus, Arsenal, and Atletico Madrid. Barcelona is just the most recent admirer for the wing-back, according to Italian tabloid TuttoSport.

Reports have claimed that the Bianconeri are leafing the race to sign the Argentine. On the other hand, the player is open to new challenges so chances are, he might leave Italy at some point.

Should Barcelona sign Nahuel Molina

The financial situation in Camp Nou has been restricting the Blaugrana’s freedom to sign new players. However, if the club is desperate to make changes and redeem itself, they have to take risks sooner or later.

Molina, who has 16 caps for Argentina, has made a tremendous impact with his attacking exploits from the right-back position. This aroused many heads at the Camp Nou and, after all, wouldn’t be a horrible deal.

To sum things up, Molina is however looking for a new challenge and if Barca gets to sign him, it wouldn’t be the first time the club expected an Argentine to bring results.
