Barcelona out of Haaland race says club Vice President

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Rafael Yuste, Vice President of FC Barcelona confirms that his club is in no position to sign Erling Haaland. The Borussia Dortmund striker is one of the best young strikers in the world and is garnering attention from top clubs of Europe.

Speaking to Mundo Deportivo, Yuste says that the current economic situation of the club will make it difficult for them to sign Haaland. Barcelona is undergoing a severe financial crisis, forcing them to even let go of club legend Lionel Messi.

Alongside the rumours of Haaland, Yuste also spoke about the current situation at the club. The Barcelona Vice-President had positive news regarding the fitness updates of players like Sergio Aguero and Ousmane Dembele.

HAALAND TO BARCELONA HINDERED BY FINANCIAL DIFFICULTY

Barcelona is currently going through a difficult situation. Years of financial mismanagement have left the club under huge debts. This has made it harder for the club to hold on to their stars and also sign new ones.

Yuste spoke about the situation and admitted the club made mistakes in the transfer market. He reiterated that the club wants the best players to play for them and that Haaland was one of the best.

I prefer to be governed by the principle of prudence. We come from a situation of a huge economic crisis, therefore prudence,” – said Yuste. Thus with the current financial situation, the vice-president admitted that it would be very difficult to sign Haaland.

Haaland is one of the best strikers in the world and is scoring for fun with his club and country. The Norwegian will see a release clause of €75 million in his contract getting activated in 2022. As a result, top sides in Europe are on high alert, including Barcelona.

However, Mino Raiola, the agent of Haaland, will surely demand a massive salary for his client. This along with the hefty agent fee that comes with Raiola will surely be too much for Barcelona. While the club infamously had to cut the salary of many of its stars this summer to register their new signings.

The latest interview of Yuste, confirms the club’s financial situation and it is now mostly improbable for them to sign Haaland.
