Barcelona ’s mission to sign Vitor Roque has gone ‘cold’

At this time, it is widely certain that Barcelona intends to recruit a new striker during the summer transfer window. While a new pivot is the major goal, the La Liga winners would also like to acquire a centre-forward to help relieve some of the pressure on Robert Lewandowski. As a result, Athletico Paranaense and Brazil attacker Vitor Roque is the top priority to fill the No. 9 spot.

Vitor Roque’s entourage is still waiting for Barcelona

However, according to the most recent update from Toni Juanmarti, the operation to bring Roque to Barcelona in the summer has gone ‘cold’. The club recognises that the 18-year-old wonderkid is a crucial priority. But they are now focused on accomplishing short-term targets given their financial condition and Financial Fair Play difficulties. As a result, the search for Roque has been somewhat stopped. Although his entourage is still waiting for Barcelona to relaunch the operation. A deal for the Brazilian striker is on the cards for some time. Roque is eager to join Barcelona this summer. His father and agent travelled to Catalonia to meet with club executives.

However, the Blaugrana’s financial predicament does not allow them to spend the cash, especially as they now need to recruit a top-level replacement for Sergio Busquets. Athletico Paranaense, on the other hand, is said to be holding out for roughly €45 million for their prized asset. Barça believes the valuation is too high. Deco, who will become Barcelona’s next sporting director, has made signing Roque his top priority. However, if the Blaugrana’s financial circumstances does not permit it, they may consider other cost-effective options.

Liverpool star Roberto Firmino, who is about to become a free agent, has recently been linked with the Catalans, while former striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is also a possibility.
