Deco’s first task as Barcelona’s sporting director, according to Gerard Romero of Jijantes FC, will be to sign Vitor Roque during the summer transfer window. And the Blaugrana could offer up to €30 million to sign the 18-year-old striker. However, despite competition from Premier League clubs, €30 million will not be enough to recruit the teenager.

Barcelona might sign Vitor Roque for €30 million
Vitor Roque has quickly risen to prominence, with experts and fans in his home country hailing him as the next big thing. Just over a year ago, the Brazilian attacker joined Athletico Paranaense from Cruzeiro. However, despite making his international debut, he has emerged as a vital character for Furacao. The 18-year-old has had a fantastic start to the 2023 season, directly contributing to 12 goals in 20 games. Roque has scored eight goals and provided four assists this season. Several high-profile teams, notably Barcelona, have taken notice of the youngster’s growth.
Last summer, Barcelona signed Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich. While the Polish striker has been successful this season, he is nearing the end of his illustrious career. So, despite signing Lewandowski less than a year ago, Barcelona must devise a succession plan for the striker position.
As a result, Vitor Roque is now recognised as a feasible objective for Barcelona. And the Catalan giants have already conducted talks about a possible summer transfer window move. But the Blaugrana’s never-ending financial troubles are complicating matters as they attempt to sign the 18-year-old striker. According to recent rumours, the Catalan giants have laid out arrangements to sign the Brazilian international. Meanwhile, Deco is about to take over as Barcelona’s new sporting director. His first priority will be to acquire a summer contract for Vitor Roque. Barcelona will therefore make an offer of roughly €30 million to sign the youngster.
However, with multiple Premier League clubs interested in signing him, €30 million may not be enough. With the teenager interested on joining Barcelona, the Catalan club may have an advantage over Arsenal and Chelsea. It will be fascinating to see if the Blaugrana can sign the 18-year-old this summer.
