Barcelona could sign a new right back, Benjamin Pavard

Despite being fired and his replacement, Thomas Tuchel, occasionally honoured Pavarrd’s request to play in central defence rather than right back. The World Cup winner has apparently stated to the recently-crowned Bundesliga champions how he wishes to move on. Pavard has exactly 13 months left on his contract. Hence he might be transferred for a reduced cost this summer to prevent him from walking away at the end of next year for free.

According to SPORT, Bayern earlier set a €35 million ($37.5 million) price tag on the Frenchman. Barcelona considers it a excessive sum given how little time he has left on his contract after expressing interest in the player a few months ago. Still, his agent, Pini Zahavi, who has a close relationship with Blaugrana president Joan Laporta. He has reportedly contacted the Catalans about a possible transfer. He will work on a possible part exchange operation between Barcelona and Bayern to make a deal happen if necessary.

Juan Foyth might cost higher than Benjamin Pavard

The Barcelona coaches want Juan Foyth from Villarreal. He might cost €60 million ($64.3 million) because to his hefty release clause. However, due to challenges navigating Financial Fair Play rules, Barcelona may choose for Pavard instead if Bayern lowers their asking price. They are delighted by the 27-year-old’s defensive strength as well as his international experience. He reached two World Cup finals with the France national team. He also played in the Champions League on a regular basis, which he won in 2020.

Foyth, like Pavard, was an unused substitute in the Qatar 2022 final victory over France. But has been in and out of Argentina’s international side. Furthermore, Foyth has only made infrequent appearances in the UCL since failing at the final hurdle for Tottenham Hotspur against Liverpool in 2020. He did, however, win the Europa League with his current squad in 2021.
