Barcelona to meet with Bayern Munich for this player

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Barcelona is expected to hold a meeting with Bayern Munich this week to discuss a price for Robert Lewandowski.

The Catalans were delighted when the Poland international stated his desire to leave the Allianz Arena. Firstly, despite competition from the likes of PSG, and Manchester United, Barcelona leads the race for his signing. Secondly, even though Bayern has all rights to keep the Pole until next year, the Catalans believe they can lure him into Camp Nou.

Barcelona negotiating for Lewandowski

The Germans have decided to cash out Robert for £50 million if Barcelona wants to buy. But Xavi‘s side has limited its budget to £40 million with £8.6 million as add-ons.

Barcelona president, Joan Laporta, allegedly used his good friendship with Lewandowski’s agent, Pini Zahavi, to agree on personal terms with the striker. As things stand, the financial debts in Barcelona don’t seem to interfere with bringing in world-class players to their dressing room.

Lewandowski’s take on the issue

During the 2021-22 season, the former Borussia Dortmund forward netted the ball 50 times and assisted 7 times in 46 games across all competitions for Bayern. However sadly for the Bavarians, they might have to look for a new striker.

“My era at Bayern is over. I don’t see any possibility to continue playing for this club anymore. Bayern’s a serious club and I believe they won’t keep me, I don’t want to play there anymore. A transfer is the best solution. I hope they don’t stop me,”

Lewandowski told reporters in an interview during the Nations League.

Lewandowski leaves a legacy behind him before joining Barcelona. He has won 8 Bundesliga titles, Super Cup, 3 German Cups, 6 German Super Cup, and a Champions League with Bayern Munich so far.

How does Barcelona plan to sign him?

Barcelona expects to see their star midfielder Frenkie De Jong leave for Manchester United by the start of the 2022-23 season. With the money that comes from Old Trafford, Camp Nou can see the presentation of Robert Lewandowski.

Manchester United and Frenkie De Jong

The Red Devils are trying to rebuild their pride after a devastating season that placed them 6th in the Premier League. Erik Ten Hag, the newly appointed coach is reportedly interested in De Jong. He wants to see if he can pull one of his stints from his Ajax days with Frenkie.

The Barcelona midfielder is worth £19 million in the transfer market as of now. In other words, transfer talks between Manchester United and Barcelona will stem from this number. The Dutch midfielder doesn’t seem to rush anything and is quite happy with his current club. However, he has also mentioned it would be a good experience to team up with Erik Ten Hag and produce some goal-scoring threat.

This would mean ideal business for Barcelona considering their financial crisis from last season. To land a legendary striker from a club that has no intention to sell would be a very smart move.

Lewandowski can see himself lining up with Aubameyang, Adama Traore, and Ousmane Dembele for the next season. Barcelona is trying to strengthen their attack and landing the Pole would spell nothing but ‘goals’.
