Chelsea 3-0 West Ham United Analysis:

The start wasn’t good for Chelsea as one of their star defenders, Ben Chilwell was injured in the beginning and Emerson Palmieri replaced him.

West Ham midfielder Declan Rice literally surprised the Blues with a shot past Edouard Mendy for a goal as early as the 7th minute. However, it was ruled offside.

However, the Blues actually found the back of the net after a fine header by Thiago Silva in the 10th minute.

Sebastian Haller had a chance to bring level in the 27th minute. But, Kurt Zouma turned it behind for a corner for the Irons.

The Hammers had another goal turned down due to a foul in Chelsea’s penalty box.

The second goal came after a wonderful assist by Timo Werner. Tammy Abraham finished it in style in the 78th minute. Two minutes later, Abraham struck again to complete the goal-fest.

Notable Performances:

Tammy Abraham (8/10): He was simply ecstatic in this fixture. Always been able to confuse the Hammers’ defence.

Thiago Silva (8/10): A brilliant header to give the Blues a deserved lead. He was leading the Blues in the behind and on the counter.

Aaron Cresswell (5/10): His performance was really disappointing. The 31-year-old left-back was responsible for two of Chelsea’s goals. He was not marking properly and wasn’t organized in the defence.

The Blues next travel to Emirates Stadium to lock horns with another London heavyweight, Arsenal on 26th December. Whereas, the Hammers host Brighton on 27th December in the Premier League.
