Chelsea enter the race to sign Juventus’ French midfielder

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Chelsea have reportedly entered the race with Barcelona to sign the French midfielder of Juventus Adrien Rabiot in the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Bianconeri bought Rabiot for free in July 2019 after beating Manchester United and other European giants in the race. But, the midfielder hasn’t had a great time in the past two years at Turin.

However, the 26-year-old midfielder is a first choice centre-midfielder under the new rookie manager Andrea Pirlo. Rabiot has made 29 Serie A appearances under the Juventus legend and scored two goals.

The Old Lady of Turin are looking for a rebuild of the squad. They have transfer listed a few underperforming players for the summer transfer window. Rabiot is one of them. He earns a huge amount of wage, however, the output on the pitch doesn’t justify the midfielder’s wage.

Can Chelsea win the race of Juventus’ midfielder Rabiot?

According to Calciomercato, Chelsea have entered the race with Barcelona for the signature of the 26-year-old Juventus’ French midfielder. Thomas Tuchel and Rabiot met at PSG and the German manager is an admirer of him.

But, the 47-year-old was unable to use the French midfielder due to PSG blocking the pathway of Rabiot from playing with the first team as the 26-year-old midfielder turned down the contract extension with the French Champions.

For me, he is a great player and can become a top player.” – Thomas Tuchel on Adrien Rabiot.

“He never stops. It’s easy to play alongside him.” – Adrien Rabiot on playing with N’Golo Kante.

If the Blues desperately go for their targets they tend to win the race in the transfer market. So, if Chelsea decides to go all out for the Juventus midfielder, they will have to pay around €20 million for the transfer money and around €7 million a year in salary for the midfielder.
