Clubs are desperate to sign Gabri Veiga

A focused midfield press worked around the 41-minute mark. Barcelona was dispossessed in midfield and the ball was quickly passed to Haris Seferovic. The Swiss striker collected the ball, rotated, and took three modest touches before finding Veiga in the inside-right channel, making the perfect run. Veiga took one touch and placed it perfectly into the bottom far corner, cutting across Marcos Alonso and running past Andreas Christensen. Veiga’s tears began to fall as the ball rolled just beyond Marc Andre Ter-Stegen’s right leg.

The hosts led 1-0 at the break, thanks to Veiga’s goal three minutes before halftime. And he increased Celta Vigo’s lead 20 minutes later. This time with a cross that went all the way past substitute keeper Inaki Pena Sotorres. Celta Vigo’s position in LaLiga was confirmed by the victory. While they may have been relegated if outcomes had gone against them, the three points propelled them to 13th place at the end of the season.

The gifted midfielder might have shown interest with a move away from his homeland on numerous occasions. The Reds and the Magpies among the clubs mentioned to have shown interest. In the aftermath of the triumph over Barcelona, Fabrizio Romano claims that Veiga will depart Estadio de Balados this summer. Romano further states that the Catalan club also have shown interest. Furthermore, AS has reported in recent weeks that Real Madrid is keeping a close eye on Gabri Veiga’s situation. However, it appears that Barcelona is his best alternative in Spain right now. If Veiga joins Barcelona, he may go right into the starting lineup, but it remains to be seen whether the club can create room for him financially.
