Dele Alli to join PSG on Loan in January?

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Last season it felt like Tottenham Hotspur and Tanguy Ndombele would be the ones parting way due to Jose Mourinho’s supposed treatment of the Frenchman. Dele Alli had his place cemented in the squad. However, this season that assumption was turned on its head.

Tanguy Ndombele is now part of Tottenham’s backbone which hasn’t changed much this season. And Dele Alli’s career looks to be in danger. The 24-year-old Attacking Midfielder who was Spurs’ main man for multiple seasons now sees himself on the bench.

This season Dele Alli has played only 240 minutes of first-team football. Out of which only 66 minutes came in the Premier League.

Alli’s future always seemed to be on-the-edge but after midweek fixture against Antwerp in the Europa League, it might be curtains for him. The Midfielder walked off into the tunnel fuming after it was apparent he won’t be making an appearance in the dead rubber.

DELE ALLI AND MANAGERS

Current Tottenham Hotspur Boss Jose Mourinho claimed that Sir Alex Ferguson gave him only 1 advice during his time at Manchester United. It was to buy Dele Alli. This proves how much the 24-year-old is rated by the Greatest Manager in the Premier League.

‘That guy, with that mentality, the way he plays, the aggression he has in mind. This guy is the Manchester United player. Buy Dele Alli.”

– Sir Alex Ferguson to Jose Mourinho

Mourinho revealed this in Amazon Prime’s All or Nothing series. He followed this up by saying Alli is not a good trainer, he just doesn’t work hard enough. This might be the number 1 reason why Alli doesn’t start for the Lilywhites as Mou likes hardworking players.

However, current PSG boss Thomas Tuchel has other plans as he is trying to lure the Englishman to Paris. PSG are trying to set up a loan deal to bring Dele Alli to the Capital of France.

WHERE WILL ALLI FIT AT PSG?

‘Les Parisiens’ play a 4-3-3 formation in most of their games. While playing this formation they struggle to create much in the final third. As a result of which both Kylian Mbappe and Neymar Jr. have to work extra hard to link up the midfield and attack. Adding Dele Alli next to the likes of Marco Verratti, Idrissa Gueye, Ander Herrera and Paredes would see him rip apart the Ligue 1.

All-in-all the loan transfer of Dele Alli would be a win for all as Spurs won’t have to bear his wages, the load from Neymar’s and Mbappe’s back would considerably reduce and England’s National Team would get another midfielder in form just before the Euros. If he manages to get back into his old form other clubs should be worried.

“When he gets physical and gets into the game and gets angry, he plays with a chip on his shoulder”

– Owen Hargreaves on Dele Alli’s aggression.
