East Bengal releases Pawan Kumar and Wahengbam Angousana

East Bengal has announced the departure of their goalie Pawan Kumar and young midfielder Wahengbam Angousana through social media. Pawan Kumar joined East Bengal from Jamshedpur FC in 2022, and Wahengbam Angousana joined East Bengal from Trau FC in 2020.

Performance for East Bengal: Wahengbam Angousana:

The 27-year-old young defensive midfielder, Wahengbam Angousana, joined East Bengal from Trau FC. Since 2020, Angousana has been with East Bengal, until last season. He played 29 ISL matches for the Red and Gold Brigade.

Angousana has also played two Durand Cup matches and six Second Division I-League matches for East Bengal. With his stint with East Bengal, Wahengbam Angousana failed to make any impressive performances for them.

Performance for East Bengal: Pawan Kumar:

The 33-year-old goalkeeper, Pawan Kumar, joined East Bengal from Jamshedpur FC. Basically, Pawan joined East Bengal as their backup goalie.

Last season, East Bengal suffered a lot with their goalkeeper position. But coach Stephen Constantine did not use Pawan. Pawan Kumar did not make his debut for this century-old club.

East Bengal starts preparation for the upcoming season:

East Bengal started their preparation for the upcoming football season under coach Carles Cuadrat. Now the team is practicing at the AIFF Center of Excellence in Rajarhat.

Yesterday, East Bengal also played a friendly match against the Indian Navy. East Bengal won the match with a 2-1 scoreline. EB management will arrange some friendly matches in the coming days for the preparation of the Durand Cup.

East Bengal strengthens its squad with new signings:

East Bengal has a rich glory in Indian Football, but the historic club failed to achieve success in the Hero ISL. Since their arrival in the ISL, they have not even qualified for the playoffs. But this year, with a successful coach like Carles Cuadrat at the helm, East Bengal management is hoping for better results.

For the upcoming season, East Bengal has signed some familiar Indian faces like Prabhsukhan Singh Gill, Nandhakumar Sekar, Mandar Rao Desai, Nishu Kumar, Harmanjot Singh Khabra, and many others. In their foreigner slot, they have signed Saul Crespo, Borja Herrera, and Javier Siverio. Even though they have also completed the signing of two other foreign defenders but the official confirmation is yet to come.

This season, East Bengal is looking to display a solid performance on the biggest stage of Indian Football. The management as well as the supporters are optimists that East Bengal will get back to its past glory after overcoming its recent failures.
