Elche has complained against Barcelona over Gavi’s registration

Barcelona was unnecessarily concerned earlier this week. When Elche, their weekend opponent, filed an  objection with the RFEF Competitions Committee about the issue of “improper alignment”. They did so because they believed there had been a “misalignment” over Gavi’s registration.Elche are still trying to claim the points from Saturday’s game.

Elche objected to Barcelona deploying Gavi since the Mercantile Court had last month revoked the youn player’s contract registration. The grievance was filed soon after Barcelona’s 4-0 victory over Elche. The game in which Gavi was among the standout players. The Competition Committee has started an ordinary procedure as a result of the complaint.

According to an update provided by Mundo Deportivo:

“The complaint was submitted three minutes before the deadline”

As a result, Barcelona will now have until the following Tuesday to respond to Elche’s “improper alignment proposal.”In advance of Copa del Rey semifinal matchup against Real Madrid,  this is an unwelcome distraction for  Barcelona.

However, the report does state that Barça have the backing of RFEF. With La Liga earlier allowing the club to field Gavi as part of the first team.

By next Wednesday, the Competition Committee will have concluded its investigation. It will reach a conclusion after Barcelona has responded to the accusation.
Barcelona may be facing the prospect of dropping all three points despite claiming a 4-0 victory should Elche prevail in the case.

This complies with the official rules in the event that a club files a complaint. Barça might potentially be subject to a €6,000 to €9,000 fine.
However, before to the game, Barcelona had requested pertinent meetings with the league and RFEF. Barca were granted permission in both instances. Therefore, it seems likely that the Catalans will prevail in this judicial battle. From barca’s perspective, they will hope to avoid losing their hard-earned three points.
