Diaz started his professional career at Cerro Porteno in Paraguay before moving to Nacional in Uruguay in 2020. Barcelona is for their love of attacking football. But they also place a great deal of importance on having a strong defense. With Diaz’s impressive performances for Nacional, he could be just the player Barcelona needs to strengthen their backline.

Will Fabricio Diaz join Barcelona?

The left-back position has been a problem for Barcelona in recent years. Jordi Alba being the only real option in the squad. Alba has been an excellent servant for the club. But at 32 years old, he is nearing the end of his career. Diaz could be the perfect replacement for Alba and provide competition for the left-back spot.

Diaz is for his pace, defensive abilities, and his ability to contribute to the attack. He has a great work ethic and is not afraid to get stuck in and make tackles. He has also shown that he has a good understanding of the game and is able to read the play well. Which is crucial for a defender.

The Paraguayan has also shown his versatility by playing as a central defender on occasion. This could be an added bonus for Barcelona, who have had problems with injuries and suspensions in defense in recent years. Diaz could provide cover for the center-back position, as well as the left-back position.
