Julian Araujo

Florian Wirtz the German youngster, is not willing to wait any longer for FC Barcelona, according to reports from Germany.

Backdrop

In the last days of the previous summer transfer window, Xavi and FC Barcelona were looking to add an offensive midfield player who could set up opportunities for his teammates. Barcelona showed interest in a number of players, including Giovani Lo Celso and Bernardo Silva. None of them signed with the Catalan team.

Florian Wirtz of Bayer Leverkusen is another offensive midfielder who has been linked to Barcelona in recent days. For the last two years, Barcelona has been receiving extremely positive reviews about the midfielder; yet, at this time, it seems unlikely that he would sign with the Catalan team.

Florian Wirtz Will Not Wait

When Wirtz is free to leave Bayer Leverkusen in the forthcoming summer transfer window. Barcelona is not expected to bid on him, according to SPORT. Wirtz and his group are also aware of Barcelona’s ambitions. Unless a competitive offer comes up this summer, they won’t wait for the Catalans.

This season, Wirtz has blossomed at Bayer Leverkusen following an extended period of injury-related absences. Because they won’t be able to make an offer for him in the upcoming summer, Barcelona really likes the player and wants him to stay at Leverkusen for another season. But it appears that such a situation is unfeasible.

Apart from his inherent abilities, Florian Wirtz also caught Barcelona’s interest by openly expressing his enthusiasm for the Catalan team. But Barcelona would not have the money to pay the price a player of Wirtz’s caliber demands, and as a result, the player would be lost, if only temporarily.

Battle for Youngster is ON

According to German reports, Leverkusen has chosen to list the Florian Wirtz for sale in the upcoming summer, with an estimated valuation of €85 million.

One team that will attempt to recruit him in the summer is Bayern Munich. They want to add Wirtz and Musiala to strengthen their midfield.

Premier League teams Newcastle United, Manchester United, and Manchester City are all keeping an eye on the player and might engage in a bidding war for him. Barcelona, though, has no intention of taking part in this kind of conflict.
