Hakim Ziyech tempted by possible move to AC Milan

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

It looks like AC Milan are going to get Hakim Ziyech more easily than they thought. Milan are all over the place this transfer window. They have a long list of No.10s which include the likes of James Rodrigues, Dele Alli and Isco. Hakim Ziyech too has been on their radar but his limited stint at Chelsea subdued the rumours. However, it seems that the move has caught the eye of the player himself.

Chelsea got Ziyech’s signature before anyone else last summer. For a sum of £38 million, Stamford Bridge had Ajax’s playmaker for another 5 years. However, injuries and a change in management meant that Ziyech had a very difficult season. In 39 appearances, he scored 6 goals and bagged 4 assists.

Milan have a very deep interest in the Moroccan. Hakan Calhanoglu left for city rivals Inter Milan this summer leaving AC Milan scrambling for a replacement. They have been linked to many other Chelsea players in the past, 2 of them materializing into signings. The transfers of Olivier Giroud and Fikayo Tomori should make it easier for Milan to do business with Chelsea.

Will Ziyech be a misfit at AC Milan too?

Ziyech is known for his long range passing and crossing skills, 2 attributes that dominate Italian football. Stefano Pioli plans to play Zlatan Ibrahimovic along with Olivier Giroud next season. With 2 forwards who can convert no matter how bad the service is, AC Milan were already set to be a dangerous side. The addition of Hakim Ziyech will bring in more stability to the midfield. Youngsters like Sandro Tonali will surely benefit from the experience Ziyech brings, a big boost to a club looking at the long-term future.

Chelsea’s board are always a hard nut to crack and negotiations will take a while. Chelsea are not ready to send the player on loan with a buy-back option. Ziyech will do his part to express his interests.
