Juan Mata open to Premier League stay

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Juan Mata may look to join another Premier League team after it was reported that he will be leaving Manchester United according to The Times.

Last summer, the Spaniard was anticipated to leave under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, only to sign a surprise new contract at the last minute.

Juan Mata’s current scenario

Mata was one of the players released by United as manager Erik ten Hag begins his rebuilding process. Despite earlier rumors that he intended to return to Spain, he wants to stay in the Premier League. Sources added saying, he’ll wait until the right deal is put on the table.

Mata is now eager to stay in England and play for another Premier League club. That is to say, a platform where he can establish himself as a regular. The MLS has expressed interest in him, and a transfer to Spain is also rumored. As a result, he is currently unsure about his future plans.

Where should Mata join this summer?

After his departure from Old Trafford was revealed this week, sources claim Juan Mata is yet to make a decision on his future step.

However, since a return to Chelsea is expected, it would be ideal if the former Blues hero chose to transfer elsewhere, perhaps to La Liga. After all, Mata may continue to play at a high level without joining a direct competitor, which would force us to meet him in the future.

Mata and Manchester

Juan Mata is a kind guy and a hard worker, and few United supporters can blame him for wanting to move on after two years of stagnation at Old Trafford.

Ten Hag was looking to move on from his previous blunders. Therefore choosing to release him for the 2022-23 season.

That process has begun with the departures of some older, more costly players to permit a roster to restructure. Everyone can only wait and see what the future has in store for Juan.

Juan Mata won the Europa League, FA Cup, and League Cup during his stint at United. Playing in 285 games, he scored 51 goals since joining The Reds back in 2014.

“From here, from the middle of the pitch at Old Trafford, at night. I’m alone. Actually, this feels like a dream. I wanted to say thank you very much to all of you for your support over the years and especially during the difficult times that we lived together. I will never forget you. Thank you very much. All the best from the bottom of my heart and goodbye.”

– Juan Mata stated as he walked out of the club.
