Latest updates on Erling Braut Haaland’ transfer saga

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Erling Haaland has been attracting attention from many European clubs and a move for the Norwegian is looking very much possible. With Spanish and English clubs only the ones that can afford him, his father and his agent, Alf-Inge Haaland and Mino Raiola respectively, are on a tour to find Haaland the right fit.

This Haaland situation arose after the 20-year-old started scoring goals for fun. He started his goal-scoring run after he joined the Austrian side, RB Salzburg. After scoreing more than 1 goal per match, he joined Bundesliga side, Borussia Dortmund.

He has been rampant there with the same scoring form. He currently has 49 goals in 49 games for them. This season, he has broken multiple records and has guided his team to the Champions League quarter-finals. After scoring another 10 goals in the competition so far, he became the youngest and the fastest player to achieve this feat.

Representatives of Haaland demanding €20 million each?

Last week, Raiola and Alf-Inge Haaland were seen travelling to Spain. Which meant that they were going to meet both suitors, Real Madrid and Barcelona to discuss the deal. Nothing has been finalized yet as there are other clubs they will be meeting who might grant a better offer.

According to reports, Erling Haaland’s agent has made it clear of the needs required for the deal to proceed. A fee of €20 million each to the agent as well as Alf-Inge has been demanded by the super agent. This was the deal that was reported after they met with the Catalan’s chairman, Joan Laporta.

However, the agent indirectly denied the claims made. Like how he never cares about what others think of him, just like that, he took social media to respond to the false news saying, “fake news travels quick and far”.

With him denying those reports, the race remains equally distributed as they have now traveled to their next destination, England. Mino Raiola has a long history with the Red Devils that started a decade ago with Pogba leaving on a free. He is also not on good terms with Pep.

Alf-Inge used to play for City back in the early 2000s. He will have a soft corner for the Blue side of Manchester, but the same cannot be said for the neighbours. In the early 2000s, he was dealt with a career-ending injury, when United captain, Roy Keane deliberately tackled him and ended his career.

Dortmund travel to Manchester City

The Norwegian striker has travelled to Manchester City with his Borussia Dortmund squad for the 1st leg fixture of the Champions League quarter-finals. He will be playing against the side that is not only one of the favourites to land him, but also the side his father used to play for. His arrival to the hotel also teased the fans as he wore a backpack similar to the colour of The Cityzen’s home shirt.

In the round of 16, he scored 4 out of the 5 goals for Dortmund against Sevilla. Their current form has made it more worrying as they have been dropping behind in the race to top 4 in the Bundesliga. Their last fixture before the upcoming match saw them lose by a goal. They are now 7 points behind 4th place.

They will be having disrupted morale heading into the Ethiad Stadium. However, they can remain optimistic as the hosts don’t have a good history at this stage of the competition either. Despite having a strong team and performing brilliantly, they somehow succumb and Dortmund will be hoping that they do the same this time.
