Dortmund suffered without their main-man Haaland against Leverkusen as they got handed a 5-2 defeat at home.

Dortmund’s hope of catching the league leaders Bayern are fading away. Furthermore getting thrashed at home by Leverkusen who went on to score 5 goals past them. Moreover to add insult to the injury, the 3rd placed Leverkusen have reduced gap between them and Dortmund by 3 points.

The game started a bit wobbly for both teams, which saw two own goals coming from both ends. The first goal came from Akanji who couldn’t help but put a save past his own keeper Kobel. The other game scored by Frimpong who deflected an indirect set-piece into his own net.

Dortmund slipped to 2nd position when they faced Bayern in December on home turf. This became their first home defeat this season, winning each of their last home games. Without a doubt, it’s fair to say that Dortmund has suffered without Haaland this season.

Dortmund has become vulnerable without their main man Haaland. The player has already scored 23 goals in just 20 appearances for the German outlet. His stats are really out of the world.
