Liverpool eyeing a sure move of Andre Trindade this winter

Liverpool

Andre Trindade, a long-standing target for Liverpool, achieved a historic feat with Fluminense on Sunday. That is by securing the Copa Libertadores. Thus, marking the first time in the Brazilian club’s history that they have won this prestigious competition.

The 22-year-old has been the subject of Premier League transfer rumors for several months. Hence, a move in January seems highly probable. Liverpool is emerging as the favorites to secure his services, and with a new report originating from Brazil, it appears that Liverpool supporters may soon no longer have to worry about the absence of a defensive midfielder in the squad.

Reportedly, the player has already reached an agreement on personal terms with Liverpool. If this is accurate, the only remaining step is to negotiate an agreement with Fluminense. However, competition from other Premier League clubs may pose a potential challenge to the deal.

Andre Trindade delivered a remarkable performance in midfield for Fluminense on Sunday. Despite the intensity of the match, he demonstrated composure and rose to the occasion. According to the Brazilian outlet ge.globo, Liverpool reportedly “sent representatives” to observe the match. It’s believed within the club that “Andre will not continue with Fluminense in 2024.”

Clubs that show interest in Andre Trindade

Liverpool, Arsenal, and Fulham are among the clubs displaying significant interest in Andre Trindade. However, a move abroad is not to occur until after he competes in the FIFA Club World Cup.

Fluminense secured qualification for the FIFA Club World Cup by winning the Copa Libertadores, which is to begin on December 12. Liverpool had a bid of approximately 30 million euros (£26 million) rejected in the summer, but according to Globo, Fluminense anticipates an offer in January of approximately €35 million (€30 million).

Andre Trindade is seen as a crucial player to help unleash the potential of Jurgen Klopp’s new midfield signings. The absence of a specialist number 6 has required Alexis Mac Allister to fill the role, impacting his form and causing a drop in confidence for the World Cup winner.

Jurgen Klopp has expressed his preference for Andre Trindade as the target for Liverpool. And it appears that a move to the club is getting closer. According to Globo, Andre and Fluminense have an agreement for the sale to be completed at the end of this year.
