Lo Celso completes move to Villarreal

Giovani Lo Celso would be playing for Villarreal for the rest of the season on loan from Tottenham Hotspur. The 25-year-old midfielder is returning to Spain after a two-year stint at the London side.

The Argentine becomes the fourth departure alongside Tanguy Ndombele, Dele Alli, and Bryan Gil. The former joins Olympique Lyon while Gil joins Spanish giants Valencia CF. On the other hand, Alli joined Everton. Tottenham alongside Everton were the busiest clubs in the deadline day of the winter transfer market.

His contract expires in June this year and would be looking for a new experience with the defending Europa League winners.

New arrivals at Spurs paves way for Lo Celso to join Villarreal

Giovani Lo Celso started his career at Rosario central and then made a huge move to French heavyweights Paris Saint Germain during the 2016-17 season.

He made 54 appearances for them scoring six goals and bagging nine assists. Then, he had a stint in Spain playing for Real Betis. In this stint, he made 45 appearances scoring 16 goals and 6 assists.

Then, he was signed by Spurs and the central midfielder had his longest spell. In the 84 apps for the Lilywhites, he scored eight goals and assisted six times.

However, new Head coach Antonio Conte had made some new emergency signings such as Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur. Additionally, Lo Celso would have to look for a contract extension or a new club in the summer.

The Yellow Submarines are currently 7th in the La Liga and the inclusion of Lo Celso would be a huge boost for them. They also have a crucial Champions League Round of 16 match against Juventus in the course of time.

Whereas, Tottenham are 7th in the Premier League and would be keen on rebuilding their team.
