The premier league champion Manchester City gives an update on all the transfer rumors regarding their Argentinian striker Julian Alvarez. Despite all the speculation surrounding his future, the city will not accept any offer for the striker. Recently, the 24-year-old has been linked with various European clubs, but it seems like the Argentinian forward will remain in Manchester City.
Julian Alvarez In Manchester City
The 24-year-old forward joined current premier league champion Manchester City in January 2022 on a five-and-a-half-year contract for a transfer fee of 13M from River Plate. After playing just one season, Alvarez extended his contract one more year, keeping him at Etihad until 2028. Julian Alvarez made 103 appearances for the citizens over the two seasons. He was a part of Manchester City’s Treble-winning campaign. Last season Alvarez made 54 appearances for City across all competitions, scored 19 goals, and registered 13 assists. City are keen to keep Alvarez at Etihad. However, last season Alvarez played as a second-fiddle to Earling Haaland and was in the starting lineup for only 39 games out of 54.

Julian Alavez was a member of Argentina’s squad during the 2022 FIFA World Cup, where his significant contributions played a crucial role in Argentina’s World Cup triumph. The 24-year-old scored 4 goals in 7 matches for Argentina including a brace against Croatia in the semi-final, and becomes the youngest player since Pele to score two goals in the World Cup semifinal.
Will Alvarez Join Any New Club In The Summer?
Alvarez’s outstanding performance raised his value in the transfer market. Clubs like Real Madrid, Chelsea, Atletico Madrid, and PSG are interested in signing Julian Alvarez. But Alvarez is happy to stay in Manchester City. Recently Julian Alvarez was asked about his future in City, and he said:-
“These are things that are said, but I am calm; I am comfortable and happy at City; we will see what happens.”
Not just Alvarez himself, the premier league champion is also keeping to keep the Argentinian. Earlier this month news comes out that Spanish giants Atletico Madrid want to sign Julian Alvarez. Recently Atletico Madrid stopped chasing Alvarez, as the club president Enrique Cerezo said,
“Julian Alvarez is a Manchester City player and I believe he won’t be moving from there.”
So, Julian Alvarez will not join any club at the moment. City is intent on retaining him and Julian himself prefers to remain at Manchester.
