Miralem Pjanic might be reportedly heading to Manchester United. The 31-year-old midfielder might be among the players to leave Barcelona due to their current financial condition.
The Bosnian international player has just made 28 appearances so far for the Catalan club. He has been seen as a possible replacement for Paul Pogba, whose future is uncertain at Old Trafford. The midfield section is the main concern for the English club’s head coach, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Pjanic hasn’t been a key figure for the La Liga club after a productive season at Italian league, Serie A. However, his contract would expire only after three years.
Miralem Pjanic – fits well with Ole’s Manchester United team!
Pjanic was bought by Barcelona after a swap deal allowing Arthur Melo to move to Juventus in 2020. However, it proved to be a difficult spell for him at the Spanish club. The midfielder also had now made 100 appearances for his nation, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
However, according to reports, he would be making a move away from Camp Nou. Manchester United seem to be the frontrunners in the race to sign him.
The Red Devils are currently second in the Premier League and would require an experienced midfielder to take charge for their next season’s quest for winning the league. In addition to this, Pjanic fits perfectly as a defensive midfielder in Solskjaer’s plans alongside Scott McTominay.
Pjanic was also be rumoured as a swap deal for Paul Pogba in 2018. Now, the latter player is again on the cards for an exit and thus, the defensive midfielder could be a replacement for the Frenchman. Additionally, Fred has been underperforming this season and Pjanic would be a perfect addition to the club.
