Manchester United interested in signing Kieran Trippier

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

According to a report from The Athletic, the 30-year-old Atletico Madrid right-back Kieran Trippier is a potential target for Manchester United this summer.

Manchester United wanted to sign the right-back in the January transfer window but he had received 10 weeks ban from football which broke the transfer talks.

Trippier joined Atletico back in 2019 from Tottenham Hotspur for a price of €22 million, and since then he has been a mainstay at the right side for Atletico.

He has gone to appear 67 times for the Spanish side till now while assisting 11 goals but has failed to register a single goal to his name.

This season he has proven a lot as his contribution has led his team to the top of the La Liga table. He has appeared 27 times while assisting 6 goals in La Liga this season.

Despite being a quality player he has failed to win any title in his career, but now it seems he could be lifting the La Liga title on Saturday.

Trippier has left only one year left in his contract and is yet to renew his contract which has led Manchester United to take interest to sign him this summer.

Tripper set for a Premier League return?

Manchester United seems to be leading the race to sign Tripper as they want some more options for the right full-back position.

Trippier is creative and has an excellent vision, his passing is extraordinary and his technique is superb. He takes his time to analyze the passing options and makes passes that wreck the whole defensive structure of the team.

He reads the game very well which helps him spot out spaces with ease. With the ball, he threatens the spaces with some beautiful forward runs and crosses, while also wins the ball with his defensive quality.

Aaron-Wan Bissaka is currently the first-choice right-back, but signing Trippier would give Manchester more options next season.

It is no doubt that a player of trippier’s quality will undoubtedly be the right choice for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer if he is confident that he can get the best out of him.

It would also be easy for Trippier to adjust in Manchester as he has already played in the Premier League earlier in his career. Well, let’s see what Trippier decides after the end of the season.
