Modric doubtful for Copa del Rey final

Fourth

Luka Modric of Real Madrid is questionable for their Copa del Rey final match against Osasunau on May 6. This according to manager Carlo Ancelotti.Real lost 4-2 to Girona this weekend and Modric, 37, is on the bench after an hour. For the 20th time, Real will attempt to win the Copa del Rey.

“He is having an injury prior match against Girona and is out of action,” Ancelotti said to the reporters ahead of Saturday’s LaLiga game against Almeria.

“It’s pending evolution and we don’t know if he will be fit for the Copa match. We are hurt and we hope he can recover soon to play in the important matches”. Manchester City will be the away side here when they go to play Real Madrid on May 9.

They are currently second in LaLiga, 11 points behind leaders Barcelona. This is after 31 games and two points ahead of Atletico Madrid. They will face fourth-placed Real Sociedad in the league on Tuesday.

Modric determined to play the final.

According to Sport Klub, Modric has sought assistance from Marijana Kovacevic’s office. This is a place which has become well-known for its treatment of muscular ailments. It is likely that the Croatian’s injury will heal faster than expected.

We will see tom whether he will be able to play against Osasuna in the Copa del Rey summit clash. His presence will be even more vital when Real Madrid hosts Manchester City three days later at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Let’s see what happens in the next days. If Modric is unable to recuperate in time, Real Madrid should have enough options to compensate for his absence.

Meanwhile in the press conference Ancelotti said Militao is fine. He had a personal issue and arrived with the training started. We need to evaluate the Valvarde thing. We’ll see. Alaba is not available either, having touched the ball for the first time today. And we’ll see Modric, he can make it on Saturday,” Ancelotti said about Militao’s absence from training today.
