Napoli are ready to sell Kalidou Koulibaly and Fabian Ruiz should they get the right bids. After sending out a blunderous tweet on Isco, the seaside giants have declared their transfer plans. They have very few targets in comparison to the Milan clubs but are looking to improvise with minimal changes.
Koulibaly made 26 appearances for Napoli last season. He had a very average season. Fabian Ruiz made 33 appearances scoring 3 goals and creating one. His performances earned him a place in the Spanish National team beating the likes of Marcos Asensio and Lucas Vasquez. He made 3 appearances as Spain went all the way to the semi, where they lost to eventual champions Italy.
Napoli did not qualify for the Champions League for a second consecutive season. They held their place in the top 4 until the penultimate round, only to lose the spot in the final matchday. Had Napoli won the game instead of drawing to Verona, Juventus would have stayed outside the top-4.
Situation in Italy
Most clubs in Italy are struggling with finances at the moment. But all of them have their eyes on the title for next season as well. Each one of them have been tackling the problem in their own ways. AC Milan have been including counterparts in every deal they make to reduce the price. Inter Milan decided to let go of their highest earning players, a move which led to Antonio Conte’s resignation and a small exodus of key players. Napoli are more inclined to Inter’s method.
Koulibaly and Ruiz at Napoli
Both the players have 2 years left on their contract and have been attracting interest from quite some time. Koulibaly had been linked to Manchester United, but the club has shifted their focus to Rafael Varane. Everton are interested in both the players and should the deal go through, Napoli will have enough finances to boost their weak spots.
