NorthEast United FC signs Hudirom Thoi Singh from Bengaluru FC

To turn around from their recent failures, NorthEast United FC is looking for a solid comeback in the upcoming season. The Highlanders have signed many new faces and also shuffled their backroom staff. NorthEast FC has recently signed young winger Hudirom Thoi Singh from Bengaluru FC.

Player Profile: Hudirom Thoi Singh:

Hailing from Manipur, the young winger started his career with the Reliance Foundation Young Champs. Later in 2020, he was found out by Bengaluru FC and joined their Reserve side. The Golden Ball Winner of the Reliance Foundation Development League 2023 joins the Highlanders with fellow Blues Shighil Nambrath and Fredy Chawngthansanga.

Hudirom Thoi Singh played a crucial role in Bengaluru FC’s RFDL-winning campaigns. He is technically very sound, brilliant with his first touch, and plays a significant role through the wings. He won the Indian Development League twice with Bengaluru FC.

Performance Analysis: Hudirom Thoi Singh:

Playing for Bengaluru FC, the young attacker played 11 RFDL matches in which he scored five goals. Hudirom Thoi Singh also played six matches in the 2nd Division I-League, in which he scored a goal. Besides, he also made three appearances for the Blues in the Durand Cup, where he scored a goal against the Indian Navy.

Playing for the BFC Reserves, Thoi Singh displayed instrumental performances that helped him gain confidence on his capabilities. Hudirom Thoi Singh has not made his ISL debut yet, but he will surely make an impact if he gets a chance to showcase his abilities.

With excitement, Hudirom Thoi Singh said in a club statement,

On having Thoi Singh in his squad, NorthEast United Assistant coach Naushad Moosa said,

“Thoi played a key part in both seasons of the Reliance Foundation Development League, which Bengaluru FC won twice. He was also the best player in the most recent edition. He is an exceptional player, he is fast, technically good, and can play on both wings. He’ll be an invaluable addition to our squad.”

NorthEast United FC has recently appointed former Bengaluru FC CEO Mandar Tamhane as the club’s CEO. On his latest scouting, Tamhane said,

“We are absolutely thrilled to have such a talented youngster in our ranks. With our strong vision and nurturing environment, I am confident that Thoi will flourish and grow with the club, reaching new heights.”

NorthEast United FC starts their journey in the Durand Cup 2023:

NorthEast United FC started their Durand Cup journey with a convincing 4-0 victory over Shillong Lajong FC. 20-year-old young striker Parthib Gogoi scored a hat trick, and the other one was scored by Philippoteaux. The Highlanders will play against FC Goa on August 12 and Downtown Heroes FC on August 20.
