Italian football giants Juventus have denied recent claims that they are in talks with Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba over a new contract. The French international has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford, with his current contract set to expire at the end of the 2021-22 season. However, Juventus have now released a statement refuting these claims.

The statement from Juventus reads: “Regarding the rumours of negotiations for the renewal of Paul Pogba’s contract, Juventus Football Club S.p.A. clarifies that it is not true.” This comes as a surprise to many, as Pogba spent four successful seasons at Juventus between 2012 and 2016, winning four Serie A titles and reaching the Champions League final in 2015.

Pogba’s future at Manchester United has been the subject of much speculation in recent months. With rumours linking him with a return to Juventus or a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid.
