Pep Guardiola Talks on Possible Chelsea Comeback

Premier

Pep Guardiola anticipates Chelsea to soon return to the title fight.

City Domination

The last Premier League title that Chelsea had was in 2016–17, Guardiola’s debut season at Manchester City.

Since then, City has dominated the tournament, winning five of the previous six seasons.
Although Chelsea defeated City in the 2021 Champions League final, the London team has had a lot of turmoil since then and is presently ranked tenth in the league.

Chelsea Comeback expected says Pep Guardiola

As his squad prepares to visit Stamford Bridge on Sunday, Guardiola stated: “Chelsea continues to be one of the English premier teams.”

“I’ve seen that in their most recent games, they’ve shown life, a positive attitude, aggression, and a solid routine. The caliber is present.

“This is one of the most difficult games we have all season. Chelsea will be there competing for the crowns sooner rather than later, I suppose.

Under new manager Mauricio Pochettino, Chelsea has had a difficult start to the season, but Guardiola is certain they can rebound well.

It’s normal, he said. Things are improving. They’re a new team with new players, but they’ll be a strong challenger because of the calibre throughout the board. Every manager requires time.

Raheem Sterling and Cole Palmer, two former City players, have been two of Chelsea’s finest players this season.
Palmer, a 21-year-old product of the City academy, moved teams in August after becoming dissatisfied with the lack of opportunities at the Etihad Stadium.

“The reason why was that he wanted game time,” Guardiola stated. He’s got it now, so good job.

“He’s a man from the academy, so we wish him the best of luck if he continues to succeed. I’m quite happy for him.

Guardiola sees Sterling as a threat after he won the FA Cup and Premier League crowns at City this past weekend.

“He’s playing really well, back in his best moments, best performance, (from) what I’ve seen lately,” Guardiola remarked.
