Pundit says Erling Haaland might join Real Madrid in future

Bundesliga superstar

Erling Haaland will not stay in the Premier League and will instead join Real Madrid. That is the opinion of CaughtOffside author and former Aston Villa and Liverpool attacker Stan Collymore. Collymore believes it is only a matter of time before the Norwegian goal machine pursues a move to Madrid.

Stan Collymore thinks Haaland might join Real Madrid in future

Haaland made headlines earlier this week when he scored his 35th goal of the season against West Ham United. Thereby breaking Alan Shearer and Andy Cole’s long-standing record of 34 goals in a single Premier League season. And, in response to the striker’s most recent goal-scoring exploits, Collymore stated that what Manchester City’s prolific number nine has accomplished in his debut season in England’s top flight is just fantastic. In an exclusive interview, Collymore stated:-

“First and foremost, congratulations to Erling Haaland on breaking Alan Shearer and Andy Cole’s record of 35 goals in 31 games! Wow!”

Although being the world’s most in-form striker and valued at a stunning £170 million (Transfermarkt), Collymore isn’t certain the Etihad, or the Premier League, will be where he sees his long-term future.

“I’m not sure how long he’ll be at City,” Collymore continued.

“Now he’s broken that record. With the focus obviously on winning the treble, if Haaland and City were able to do that, how much incentive would there be for him to stay at the Etihad? – Very little, in my opinion.

Norwegian ‘ROBOT’ may pair up with Bellingham in Real Madrid

“Add that to the fact he is really, really good friends with Bellingham. As I have said multiple times before, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if he see the pair reunited at Madrid. It would be a move that would make sense for Haaland. I doubt very much he will see out his career at City. To play for arguably the greatest club in the world and join the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Raul, Ronaldo Nazario, Luis Figo, Sergio Ramos, Roberto Carlos, Alfredo Di Stefano and Zinedine Zidane in the legends book is likely to be the only thing missing from his career. So watch this space – Haaland to Real Madrid in the next few seasons.”

Predicting that Haaland will one day play in Real Madrid’s famous white shirt comes at a time when England attacking midfielder Jude Bellingham is ‘close to agreeing’ personal terms with the Spanish giants. As Collymore correctly pointed out, as former teammates at Borussia Dortmund, the pair have a great on and off pitch relationship. Hence the prospect of them linking up again in the prime of their careers is a terrifying for any opponent.
