Real Madrid are interested in signing Benfica’s Antonio Silva

key youngster

Antonio Rudiger was signed by Real Madrid last summer on a free transfer to strengthen their defence. The club has replaced the Ramos-Varane partnership with Alaba-Rudiger swiftly. However, both David Alaba and Antonio Rudiger are not getting any younger. This is why the Los Blancos are interested in signing the Portuguese sensation, Antonio Silva.

The young centre-back has been in sublime form this season and has been linked with many top clubs. The Portuguese was also called up to the National team for the FIFA World Cup. At such a young age, the centre back has shown excellent composure and ability at the top level.

Eder Militao was signed as a long-term option at centre-back from Porto. The deal has turned out really well for the European Champions and thus a similar acquisition from the Portuguese league might not be a bad option for the club.

Benfica have no plans to sell easily to Real Madrid

Benfica have developed an excellent scouting system for young talents. A host of top players in the world right now have come from the academy of Benfica. The club is run on the basis of selling top talents for profit and reinvesting them in new talent.

However, the club has learned to negotiate better in recent seasons. They have made good sales and bought smartly to earn the club a lot of profit. The Portuguese giants are looking to do the same thing with Antonio Silva.

The club has slapped a 100 million Euro price tag on the player. The Spanish club though is unwilling to pay a humungous sum for the centre-back. However, the Los Blancos have an amazing negotiation tactic up their sleeve. The trick is called Florentino Perez. The President has a history of pulling off amazing transfers and the fans will hope this is one such case!
