Real Sociedad 0-4 Manchester United: Post Match Analysis

Manchester United beat Real Sociedad by 4-0 in away fixture of the first leg in UEFA Europa League round of 32 game which took place in Juventus Centre.

Two goals from Bruno Fernandes and a goal each from Marcus Rashford and Daniel James gave a very easy victory in a tough European football.

It is now a monumental task for Real Sociedad to come back from this situation. They will have to score five goals or more at Old Trafford to go through to the next round which seems extremely unlikely.

Dean Henderson came into the starting Xl for David De Gea. Bruno Fernandes and Harry Maguire the two undroppable players for Solskjær started in this encounter as well.

Real Sociedad 0-4 Manchester United Post Match Analysis:

The game started in an end to end manner. Real Sociedad had two opportunities from two of Bailly’s mistakes but thankfully for them, it didn’t occur anything bad.

Manchester United had two best chances of the game and both chances fell for Rashford and his efforts were brilliantly saved by Alex Romero. Scott McTominay also had a great opportunity but his shot was saved by Romero yet again. He looked absolutely unbeatable before Fernandes opened the account.

Rashford’s ball made a mess by Real Sociedad defenders and goalkeeper and Bruno Fernandes put the ball into an empty net.

In the second half, it was all about The Red Devils. Bruno Fernandes doubled the lead from a great counter-attack and his finish was excellent. Rashford finally got his goal and scored the 3rd goal for United. Yet another blistering counter finished off excellently by Rashford.

In the very last moment of the game, a clearance of Bailly became a super ball for James and he showed his raw pace before scoring the fourth for Solskjær’s side.

Notable Performances:

Bruno Fernandes(CAM) – (8/10)(Manchester United): Scored two goals and his finishing on the second goal was very good. He was usually at his best again. It was Fernandes’ 20th goal of the season.

Daniel James(RW) – (7.5/10)(Manchester United): His touch for the second goal came off brilliantly for Bruno Fernandes and also scored an excellent solo goal.

Nacho Monreal(LB) – (5/10)(Real Sociedad): He had a very bad game against Dan James who gave him trouble with pace. He looked bad defensively.

Real Sociedad will play next against Deportivo Alaves in La Liga on Sunday and Manchester United’s next game is against Newcastle United at Old Trafford on the same day.
