Skriniar draws attention from Stamford Bridge

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Milan Skriniar has been reportedly wanted by Chelsea after Paris Saint-Germain’s £52 million bid on the table was rejected by Inter Milan.

Chelsea interested in Skriniar

The Blues have suffered a huge blow after their star center-back, Antonio Rudiger was taken away by Real Madrid this month. Thomas Tuchel as a result is now keen on bringing a promising defender as a replacement and the Serb seems to be the perfect match.

A swap for Romelu Lukaku

Inter Milan has successfully signed Romelu Lukaku from Stamford Bridge. This signing came after selling him for a whopping £102 million last year. The Nerazzurri have signed Lukaku on loan for £6.8 million and add-ons.

This has been a huge setback for them and they wish to swap Milan Skriniar for Romelu Lukaku. Because Romelu didn’t meet the standards of a world-class goal scorer. And now the 2-time Champions League winners are set to open talks for the Serian center-back.

Inter Milan’s take on the Serb

Sky Italia says that the Nerazzurri are open to selling Milan Skriniar in order to make some money out of him. In other words, the club has some financial debts to be cleared and Skriniar is the key.

Paris Saint-Germain offered £52 million for the defender only to see a rejection from the Italians. Milan doesn’t seem to be interested in any offer of less than £70 million. Above all, talks between PSG and Inter have remained stagnant.

Chelsea was alerted by the whole scenario and jumped in to see if they can bring the 27-year-old to the Premier League. Skriniar started 35 of 38 matches for Inter last season and seems like a promising player.

The final take

It all comes down to Chelsea’s manager Thomas Tuchel to decide on whom to sign. There have been talks of Matthijs de Ligt of Juventus to be Tuchel’s choice for Rudiger’s replacement. However, Skriniar is far from the target for Chelsea to shoot the arrow. In conclusion, one can only wait and watch how things can turn out to be.
